"Hari Om"

Shri Rajnikant H. Jani was born in the year 1927 in a teacher's family, both his parents being Primary School Teachers. In his school days the family lost the main bread winner, his father, so his high school education was completed under the stress of hardship and want.

After passing his matriculation examination, he served as an assistant teacher in one of the local school, and did earning and learning together and graduated from the Gujarat University and subsequently got his master's degree with Gujarati and English. During this, he had also got required teaching qualifications. Thereafter, he got his LL.B and LL.M Degrees. Deciding once for all to stick to the teaching profession, he passed his B.Ed. Examination also.

After putting in 16 years of service at the Sharda Mandir High School and earning a name as a competent teacher of Geography, Shri Jani, along with some teacher friends put into operation his ideal of having a school with the aim of breaking away from the common trend of schools, by making it a best run progressive school.

The task ahead was stiff and financial backing almost nil. Yet with the dedicated efforts of teachers and good will of the guardians, the school, which had an initial strength of 260, flourished in a decade, into a big educational complex two High Schools, Two Primary Schools and Two K.G. Units. Subsequently four more units were added to these when the Samarpan Building came into existence.

The School was fortunate enough to have on its Trusts not industrialists, but educationists, Social Workers and teachers. Rev. Shri Mota, with whose blessing the school was started and who considered the school as his own continued to inspire and watch the progress of the school.

The Government of Gujarat was kind enough to allot a rent free land to the school for its building purposes. The trust raising its own resources, and with public help constructed an imposing building answering all the needs of the Secondary and Higher Secondary School at the cost of Rs. 7 Lakhs.

Shri Jani as the Secretary of the Shreyas Trust rendered yeoman's services in the raising of funds and supervision of the building construction, with a view to getting maximum benefits with minimum expenses.

Since 1976, the Secondary and Higher Secondary units of both English and Gujarati medium are housed in the new building whose special features are good laboratories and fine library for students.

Subsequently to answer the needs of the Primary and Pre-Primary students, another building costing about Rs. 14 Lakhs has come into existence with a special library for Primary Students, auditorium, gymnasium etc.

As a result Shri Jani during this period got opportunities to undertake a study cum lecture tour to U.S.A. and U.K. at the invitation of the authorities there. The outcome is beneficial to Shreayas Units as Shri Jani has put to school's advantage what he gained during these tours.

As an able organiser and education administrator with a vision, Shri Jani does not believe in lop-sided progress but tries his best to continue to get good results in the academic curricular and co-curricular fields which is connected with school. Shreyas student's winning distinction in tournaments, debates and other social activities is a proof of this
